My theology professor from seminary just released another book, and this one looks to promise a lot in a small amount of space. Mike Wittmer writes his books with humor, wit, and an adept ability to bring lofty theological concepts to the level of you and I. I owe a lot of my mental formation to this man and his writing and you can bet I will be reading his newest book, Despite Doubt: Embracing a Confident Faith. Dr. Wittmer does not attack the issue of doubt from the viewpoint of how hard it is to believe what God says or that Christ rose from the dead, but how trust in God can be fostered and faith strengthened. In other words, how does what you know lead you to trust. He has included questions for reflection in his newest book which makes this a great addition to a small group study. If you want to read more about what Mike has to say about his book you can go to his blog, here. You can also watch the video below. My friend, mentor, and professor thinks this is his most important work yet, and that says something.
