It’ s a new month and that means that some ministries have released some free resources for our enjoyment and edification. Enjoy!
R.C. Sproul’s book The Truth of the Cross is free all month in audio format. Reformed Resources and the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals have released a small ebook from James Montgomery Boice on the the empty tomb, called, The Not Quite Empty Tomb. Spread this one around for Easter.
I have come across some delightful blog posts in the last couple of days. This one is for moms written by Gloria Furman, Missional Motherhood. Moms, be sure to check this one out too, The Oldest Tricks in the Book of Motherhood. Here is one for the head of the home (dads), Suggested Resources on Family Worship. There are some great tools listed there, get some, use them, rejoice. And just so I don’t leave those readers out who are not moms or dads, here is an encouraging bit form R.C. Sproul Jr. on singleness, What is the ‘gift of singleness’ and how do I know if I have it?
Also, it may be a surprise to some, but I doubt it, that I am not a fan of the book Jesus Calling. I think it is deceptive and can lead people along a mystical false doctrine of the Word of God and its sufficiency, or seeming lack of. However, in my animus against this book I may not be in a right place to speak about it to others yet, so here are a few people discussing the book. Two pastors and a house-wife theologian look at what is good in the book and what is bad. It is a good discussion and worthy of your time.
